Lychnis chalcedonica 'Lipstick' is a an attractive cultivar that features bronze, lancelolate foliage on sturdy stems. Clusters of brilliant orange-red flowers appear atop stems in mid-summer. Supposedly deer-resistant. However, we have found that woodchucks and rabbits will demolish emerging plants if not ringed with wire in early spring. Does not require staking.
