A large mounding plant with tall stems lined with narrow, lance-shaped leaves. In mid-June, clusters of blue, star-like flowers appear at the stem ends. Prefers full sun. In part shade, the plant may open up in the center and flop. May take a few years to establish and achieve large size. 'Storm Cloud' is a large upright culrivar. 'Blue Ice' is a dwarf variety that is only 18" tall.
